Palm Treo Pro: Bilder und Details
Lange hat Palm kein Smartphone mehr veröffentlicht, das es mit aktuellen Spitzengeräten aufnehmen kann. Nach einer so langen Abstinenz erwartet man nicht weniger als eine Revolution. Doch die Bilder und Details vom Palm Treo Pro, die jetzt im Internet aufgetaucht sind, zeigen bloß eine Evolution - aber was für eine.
Palm Treo Pro (Bild: PalmInfoCenter)Beim Palm Treo Pro könnte es ich um den Palm Treo 850 handeln, über den schon länger gemußmaßt wird. Die ersten Bilder sind in einem Unterbereich der offiziellen Palm-Website erschienen und nach den ersten Berichten dort ebenso schnell wieder verschwunden.
Auch einige Blogs haben die Bilder wieder entfernt. Anscheinend hat Palm hier Druck ausgeübt. Auf einem chinesischen Blog jedoch wurden daraufhin sogar Fotos des Palm Treo Pro veröffentlicht.
UMTS und WLAN
Das Palm Treo Pro erscheint im klassischen Palm-Formt mit einer vollständigen QWERTZ-Tastatur unterhalb eines Touchscreens. Das Design lehnt sich offensichtlich an den Palm Centro an. Doch der Treo Pro ist ebenso breit wie ein Palm Treo 680. Es wird sich darauf ebenso gut tippen lassen.
Als Treo-Smartphone wird er sich in erster Linie an Geschäftskunden richten und läuft daher unter Windows Mobile 6.1. Über UMTS und WLAN wird er auch einen schnellen Internetzugang erhalten. Das WLAN-Modul lässt sich per Taste an der Gehäuseseite abschalten. Auf diese Weise spart man wertvolle Akkulaufzeit.
Schneller Prozessor, große Akku
Damit auch alles flüssig läuft, soll der Palm Treo Pro einen 400 MHz schnellen Prozessor sowie einen Arbeitsspeicher von 128 MB verbaut haben. Der Treo Pro soll Speicherkarten im Micro-SD-Format bis zu einer Größe von 32 GB lesen können. Damit überträfe er die meisten aktuellen Smartphones bei weitem.

Ein Grund, weshalb Palm in Vergangenheit neue Technik so sparsam verbaut hat, ist deren Energieverbrauch. Apple verhält sich beim iPhone nicht anders. Mit einem leistungsstarken 1500-mAh-Akku dürfte der Palm Treo Pro aber dennoch einige Zeit im Einsatz durchhalten. Ebenso löblich ist der 3,5-Klinke-Anschluss, über den nun handelsübliche Kopfhörer angeschlossen werden können.
Wann das Palm Treo Pro erscheinen wird, ob überhaupt oder zu welchem Preis, ist nicht bekannt.

Since its a windows molibe device, those require Active Sync (Windows XP) or Mobile Center (Vista) for Active Sync for Mobile Device CenterBoth programs are Free of charge and are the same ones included on the CD.You MAY need a copy of Outlook to sync contacts but that is only if you don't have Outlook already.

keypad is way too small many? mistypes. Prone to freneizg and lockups that are only resolved by pulling the battery. Except for the wireless feature I don't like it. AND way too much radiation outta this cracker I can't hold it to my ear without getting a headache.
