Sidekick Slide exklusiv bei T-Mobile

Als das mobile Internet noch mehr in den Kinderschuhen steckte als heute, komprimierten Blackberry und Danger die Daten, um sie schnell aufs Handy zu schieben. Das sparte Zeit und Geld. Danger ließ zudem noch günstige Geräte bauen. In Deutschland bot E-Plus sie als Hiptop an. Nun setzt T-Mobile auf den Nachfolger, der jetzt wie in Amerika Sidekick heißt.

TippmaschineSchiebt man das Display des Sidekick Slide zur Seite, erscheint darunter eine QWERTZ-Tastatur. Der Sidekick Slide ist eine Tippmaschine. E-Mails werden direkt auf das Gerät gepusht. Ein Instant Messenger von AIM ist vorinstalliert. Nach wie vor werden alle Daten über einen Server von Danger geleitet, der die Daten komprimiert und verschlüsselt. Eine direkte Verbindung zum Internet erhält man also nicht.

Der Sidekick Slide ist 118 x 62 x 17,5 mm groß und 150 Gramm schwer. Der Bildschirm kann nur eine Auflösung von 320 x 240 Pixel anzeigen. Der interne Speicher von 128 MB wird über eine 512 MB große Micro-SD-Speicherkarte ergänzt. Dort lässt sich auch Musik ablegen, um den Sidekick als MP3-Player zu verwenden. Ein Stereo-Headset liegt dem Lieferumfang bei. Eine Akkuladung hält ein Gespräch von 4,5 Stunden lang oder 3,5 Tage im Bereitschaftsmodus.

15 Euro monatlich für Komprimierung und Verschlüsselung

T-Mobile bietet den Sidekick Slide in Deutschland exklusiv an. In Verbindung mit dem Tarif Relax 100 kostet er 4,95 Euro. Ohne Vertrag werden 399 Euro berechnet. Neben der monatlichen Gebühr für den Mobilfunkvertrag fallen zusätzlich noch 15 Euro für die Daten-Option Sidekick Data an. Darüber lässt sich unbegrenzt surfen, mailen und chatten.

Der Dienst von Danger bietet gleichzeitig auch eine Sicherung der eigenen Daten. Fotos und Kontaktdaten werden auf dem Server von Danger gespiegelt und sind passwortgeschützt auch über das Internet erreichbar. Die Komprimierung der Daten wäre allerdings nicht mehr notwendig. Das Sidekick Slide funkt nicht nur über GPRS, sondern auch über EDGE Klasse 10, das von T-Mobile flächendeckend angeboten wird.

I ordered a rbbeur case for my centro off of ebay for 7 bucks. I also ordered an extra charge cable and leather case for cheap too.As for software, if you go to cnet.com then go to the downloads section it will have lots of free software (some just free to try). You should definately get Ringo Pro or Minitones if you want to change your ring tones. Astraware.com has lots of games (even some free or really cheap) for your device as well. Finally you may want to look into a program called dial by photo. It is (as the name suggests) a photo dialer. I think it is much easier to dial the phoen that when you have one hand (or driving). You can download a trial for 14 days. They also have ultimatephone which does the same thing but has more features.Don't forget to get at a 4g microsd card since the centro doesn't have a lot of internal memory. I got mine from office depot for like 40 bucks (if you are patient you can go to newegg.com it will be cheaper, but you will have to wait for it to arrive)

I need to have two scrollers on the same page. So i've cpeiod the line as suggested earlier in this blog. The line i cut and paste isvar hor = new Ticker('TickerVertical', { speed : 500, delay : 5000, direction : 'vertical'});That did not work. So I gave the new one a new name as 'TickerVertical2'with rest being the same.var hor = new Ticker('TickerVertical2', { speed : 500, delay : 5000, direction : 'vertical'});This worked in getting both scrollers scrolling. Now the controls do not seem to work properly. When I click 'stop' for the top control, the scrolling does not stop, instead the bottom one stops and does not start after that at all. Top one continuosly scrolls. Any suggestions on a fix ?

This is a super script! One more thing (to make it just pefrcet :-)) ... is it possible; when you hover with your mouse over the news-ticker-div that the box stops from scrolling. I know you can slow down the speed but then it takes to long for all the articles to pass. When you hover over an article that you like the script should stop so that people can read it. Whilst I love this scriot, I have found that it also cesuas memory leaks, and Internet Explorer is also heavily effected by this.
