Ein Traum wird wahr: HTC Dream erstes Google-Handy

Das erste Smartphone mit Googles Betriebssystem Android sollte von HTC stammen und in der zweiten Jahreshälfte erscheinen. Seit dieser offiziellen Ankündigung hat man jedoch nichts mehr davon gehört. Eine inoffzielle Quelle verriet nun dem amerikanischen Magazin InfoWorld, das Gerät solle HTC Dream heißen und erst Ende des Jahres erscheinen. Offiziell kommentierte HTC dies nicht.

Google steckt hinter dem Alleskönner
Google steckt hinter dem AlleskönnerEin Meisterstück soll das HTC Dream anscheinend werden. Mit den Maßen von ungefähr 13 x 7,5 cm ist es kein einfaches Handy mehr, das locker in die Hostentasche passt. Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um einen Slider oder um ein Gerät mit einem Drehmechanismus. Es wird einen großen Touchscreen und eine vollständige QWERT-Tastatur haben.

Das HTC Dream wird folglich eher dem HTC Advantage gleichen, das in Deutschland meist als T-Mobile Ameo verkauft wird, als einem Smartphone der Blackberry-Klasse. Ein solcher Prototyp wurden bereits im Februar auf dem World Mobile Congress in Barcelona gezeigt. Ein derart kompaktes Android-Handy könnte aber bald von Samsung kommen. Auch dort soll man mit der Entwicklung recht weit sein.

Ein Androide mit TouchFLO?

Zwei unterschiedliche Geräte von zwei Herstellern, aber mit demselben Betriebssystem. Google hätte schnell gezeigt, wozu Android fähig ist. Apple hat mit seinem iPhone jedoch nur eine einzige Idee umgesetzt (wenn auch brilliant), die jetzt alle paar Monate immer wieder variiert werden wird.

Die ungenannte Quelle sagte auch, dass HTC nach dem HTC Dream noch weitere Smartphones mit Android herausbringen wolle. HTC wird all seine Erfahrung in das Dream packen. Mit TouchFLO verpasste man Windows Mobile eine iPhone-ähnliche Oberfläche. Und vor kurzem erst entwickelte man für Sony Ericsson das Xperia X1. Das HTC Dream könnte ein Traum sein, der tatsächlich in Erfüllung geht.
