Nokia Pulse: Weder Facebook noch Google+
Seit heute kann man das Nokia Lumia 800 kaufen, Nokias erstes Smartphone mit Windows Phone 7. Bei der Vorstellung im Oktober wurde auch Nokia Pulse gezeigt, ein soziales Netzwerk, das nicht die Personen in den Vordergrund stellt, sondern die Orte, an denen sie gerade sind. Das selbsternannte dritte mobile Ökosystem kopiert also nicht Facebook oder Google+, sondern geht einen eigenen Weg.
Über Nokia Pulse kann man vom Handy aus den Ort mitteilen, an dem man sich aufhält – mit nur einem Klick. Jeder Nachricht kann der Ort automatisch hinzugefügt werden – Status-Updates, Fotos oder Links.
Nokia Pulse auf dem Windows Phone
Damit beantwortet man nicht nur die Frage, wo man ist, sondern auch wie die Freunde zu einem finden. Nokia Pulse ist Teil von Nokia Maps. Wenn man sich also verabredet hat, weiß der Freund, ob man schon am verabredeten Ort ist oder noch unterwegs.
Eine Rundmail an alle
Wenn man mit dem Flugzeug gelandet ist und nach Stunden und vielen hundert Kilometern erstmals das Handy wieder anstellt, kann der neue Ort auch per Nachricht an alle in einer Gruppe verschickt werden.
Nokia Pulse ist also ein Check-in-System. Facebook und Google haben auch die Möglichkeit zum Check-in eingerichtet, dies aber auf bestehende Dienste aufgesetzt, Nokia macht den Check-in zum Ausgangspunkt.
Nicht für MeeGo
Man kann sich über Nokia Pulse auch mit Freunden verknüpfen, das primäre Ziel bleibt aber die Weitergabe des Ortes. Daher sind die Aktivitäten über Nokia Pulse auch nicht für jeden ersichtlich, sondern privat. Facebook und Google stehen immer wieder in Kritik wegen einer zu laxen Vorstellung von Privatsphäre.
Die Gruppen lassen sich frei definieren – als Freunde, Familie, Sportteam, Kollegen. Nokia Pulse befindet sich noch in einer Betaversion und lässt sich auf Windows Phone, Symbian und im mobilen Browser nutzen. Bald soll es eine Version für Symbian S40 geben, nicht aber für MeeGo.

Another vote for ARM support on Windows RT.In the mean time, is it polsbise to use the built-in Windows VPN client on my RT system to connect to a Juniper VPN server? It seems like L2TP/IPSec with MSCHAPv2 should work, but Windows keeps reporting error 789 (failure to negotiate security protocols). I know that my server is AES128/MD5, LZO compression, and uses ESP I also have all the proper client machine certificates installed but, still no luck.Any ideas of other things I can try?
