Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Dem iPhone ebenbürtig
Jahrelang war man auf der Suche nach einem iPhone-Killer. Apple setzte immer neue Maßstäbe, die Konkurrenz verwies darauf, dass sie später gestartet sei. In diesem Herbst sieht das Bild anders aus. Das iPhone 4S macht keinen großen Sprung, das Samsung Galaxy Nexus ist aber für viele das, was das iPhone 5 hätte werden sollen.
Das Samsung Galaxy Nexus wurde in den frühen Morgenstunden in Hongkong vorgestellt, es ist das erste Smartphone mit Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich – in der reinen Form ohne TouchWiz-Oberfläche. Es ist Googles Referenzmodell für die neue Androidversion.

Der 4,65 Zoll große Super-AMOLED-Touchscreen zeigt 1.280 x 720 Bildpunkte an. Er ist genauso leicht gebogen wie die Rückseite, sodass das Galaxy Nexus gut in der Hand liegt. Es misst 13,6 x 6,8 x 9,0 cm und wiegt 135 Gramm. Die für Android-Handys typischen Tasten gibt es nicht mehr, diese sind jetzt in Android integriert.
Ein Barometer im Smartphone
Innen stecken ein Dual-Core-Prozessor, der mit 1,2 GHz getaktet ist, 1GB RAM und ein Speicher von wahlweise 16 GB or 32 GB. Einen Steckplatz für Micro-SD-Karten gibt es nicht.
Daten können über HSDPA mit bis zu 21 Mbit/s auf das Galaxy Nexus geladen und über HSUPA mit bis zu 5,76 Mbit/s verschickt werden. Alternativ kann man über WLAN a/b/g/n online gehen. In den USA wird es eine Version geben, die über LTE funkt.
Zur weiteren Ausstattung gehören eine 5-Megapixel-Kamera auf der Rückseite, die HD-Videos in 1080p sowie Panorama-Fotos aufnehmen kann, eine 1,3-Megapixel-Kamer vorne, GPS, NFC, die üblichen Sensoren, darunter erstmals auch ein Barometer.
