Google Goggles für alle Bilder

Für Smartphones mit Android gibt es jetzt eine neue Version von Google Goggles. Die Bilderkennung muss nun nicht mehr manuell gestartet werden, sie kann automatisch alle mit der Handykamera aufgenommen Bilder nach Interessantem durchsuchen.

Die neue Funktion von Google Goggles 1.6 kann an- und ausgeschaltet werden. Das Handy schickt jedes neue Foto an einen Google-Server, wo das Bild in Sekundenschnelle analysiert wird.

Als Ergebnis gibt es dann zahlreiche Infos. Diese können von Wikipedia stammen, aber auch von Googles eigenem Preisvergleich – einschließlich Link zum günstigsten Shop.

Läuft im Hintergrund

Da dieser Prozess nun im Hintergrund läuft, meldet sich Goggles, wenn etwas erkannt wird. Das können Gebäude sein, aber auch Bücher, DVDs, Spiele, Weinflaschen, Gemälde, QR-Codes, Visitenkarten und Texte, die sich dann übersetzen lassen.

Google Goggles 1.6 gibt es im Android Market und lässt sich auf Smartphones mit Android 2.1+ installieren. Die Erkennung von Gesichtern bzw. Personen soll kein Bestandteil von Google Goggles werden.
