Lenovo Thinkpad Edge: Fluffige Business-Notebooks

Neue Käufer will sich Lenovo mit der neuen Notebook-Serie Thinkpad Edge erschließen. Thinkpad steht für das Geschäftskunden-Segment. Thinkpad Edge kommt farbig daher und richtet sich an die Mitarbeiter kleinerer und mittlerer Unternehmen.

Leicht und flach sollen die Thinkpad-Edge-Notebooks sein. Genaue Zahlen nennt Lenovo allerdings noch nicht. In drei Größen wird es das Thinkpad Edge geben - mit 13, 14 oder 15 Zoll großem Bildschirm.

Wie auch im Lenovo Thinkpad X100e wird im Thinkpad Edge ein AMD-Prozessor stecken. Hier kann man aber auch alternativ auf Intel setzen. Die Akkulaufzeiten sollen an acht Stunden heranreichen. Mehr zum Innenleben verriet Lenovo noch nicht.

Tasten neu angeordnet

Neu angeordnet wurden die Tasten auf der Tastatur. Wer zuvor bereits einen Thinkpad genutzt hat, wird sich etwas ungewöhnen müssen. Trackpoint und Touchpad sind selbstverständlich erhalten geblieben.

Das Touchpad ist größer geworden und beherrscht Multitouch. In einigen Modellen des Thinkpad Edge 14 und 15 steckt eine Tastatur mit Hintergrundbeleuchtung.

Ins Internet gelangt das Lenovo Thinkpad Edge über WLAN b/g/n. UMTS und GPS gibt es optional. Das Modell mit dem 13,3 Zoll großen Display (1.366 x 768 Bildpunkte) ist bereits jetzt für mindestens 549 Dollar erhältlich. Im zweiten Quartal folgen dann die weiteren Modelle.

Thinkpad T410s, T410 und T510

Ob und wann die Lenovo-Notebooks der Thinkpad-Edge-Reihe nach Deutschland kommen, ist nicht bekannt. Bei der Farbe des Notebook-Deckels hat man die Wahl zwischen rot glänzend, schwarz glänzend und schwarz matt.

Auch die Modelle der richtigen Thinkpad-Serie wurden überarbeitet. Die Modelle T410s, T410 und T510 sind unter anderem mit den neuesten Intel-Dual-Core-Prozessoren und besserem Energiemanagement ausgestattet.
