Fonic: Günstiger Datentarif fürs Land

Der neue Mobilfunk-Discounter Fonic, der heute im Rahmen der Internationalen Funkausstellung (IFA) vorgestellt wurde, ist sicherlich ein Konkurrenzangebot zu den anderen Billiganbietern wie simyo und Aldi Talk. Er könnte auch ein Ausweg für den Netzbetreiber O2 sein, der gerade Probleme mit Umsatz und Gewinn vermelden musste.

Fonic bietet aber auch einen Datentarif mit günstigen 24 Cent pro Megabyte. So viel zahlt man zwar auch bei simyo, doch dort wird das Netz von E-Plus genutzt, das im ländlichen Raum nicht immer zu erreichen ist. Fonic kann dort immerhin auf das Netz von T-Mobile zugreifen, wenn das Netz der Konzermutter O2 ebenfalls schwächelt. Fonic ist der ideale Tarif für Nutzer des mobilen Internets im ländlichen Raum.

In erster Linie wird Fonic aber über den Gesprächspreis verkauft. 9,9 Cent kostet die Minute in alle deutschen Netze, abgerechnet wird im Minutentakt. Die Konkurrenz, die wie Fonic weder Grundgebühr noch Mindestumsatz berechnet, verlangt mindestens 14 Ct/min. Nur netzintern ist es dort billiger, das lässt sich aber nicht immer nutzen.

Die SMS in alle deutschen Netze kostet bei Fonic ebenfalls 9,9 Cent. Die Abfrage der Mailbox ist kostenlos. Einmalig werden 9,99 Euro berechnet, man muss zu Beginn auch gleich 10 Euro aufladen.

Ungünstige Datenblöcke

Als neuer Anbieter braucht Fonic einen Partner, der die SIM-Karten unters Volk bringt. Diesen hat man im Lebensmittel-Dicscounter Lidl gefunden. Nachdem ähnliche Angebote schon bei Aldi und Rewe an der Kasse zwischen Zigaretten und Flachmann hängen, konnte auch Lidl nicht nachstehen. Ab Montag werden dort auch die Prepaidkarten von Fonic verkauft.

Der Datentarif des neuen Mobilfunk-Discounters ist allerdings trotz des selben Preises nicht identisch mit dem vom simyo. In zwei Punkten hat er das Nachsehen: Fonic rechnet in Schritten zu 100 KB ab und nicht zu 10 KB wie simyo. Dann ist der Internetzugang über UMTS nicht möglich. Man wird im besten Fall mit knapp 50 kbit/s Daten abrufen können und nicht mit bis zu 384 kbit/s wie bei simyo.
