Die Google-Suche für Smartphones mit Windows Mobile gibt es jetzt in einer neuen Version. Die Google Mobile App kann endlich den aktuellen Standort über My Location bestimmen und in die Suche einbeziehen.
Bei einer lokalen Suche kann man sich dann die Eingabe des Ortes sparen. Wer nach Pizza sucht, erhält als Suchergebnis nur Pizzerien in der näheren Umgebung.
Google Mobile App for Windows Mobile
Wenn das Handy über keinen GPS-Empfang verfügt, wird der aktuelle Standort über die ID der Funkzelle bestimmt. Dies ist zwar ungenau, reicht aber für die lokale Suche in der Regel aus. Die Funktion My Location kann allerdings auch ausgeschaltet werden.
Weniger tippen mit Google Suggest
Neu in der Google Mobile App für Windows Mobile ist auch Google Suggest. Bereits bei der Eingabe von Suchbegriffen schlägt Google mehrere Suchbegriffe vor. Wenn diese passen, spart man sich einiges an Tipparbeit.
Über m.google.com kann die neue Version der Google Mobile App direkt auf das Handy geladen werden.
