Microsoft Courier: Ein Tablet-PC in Buchform

Wer sich einen E-Book-Reader zulegt, um darauf digitale Bücher zu lesen, muss nichts aufklappen oder umblättern. Das Blog Gizmodo berichtet jetzt aber von einen Microsoft-Prototypen, der sich wie ein Buch aufklappen lässt, jedoch viel mehr kann.

Microsoft Courier soll das Gerät heißen, dessen Entwicklung angeblich schon weit fortgeschritten ist. Wenn man es aufklappt, erscheint links und recht jeweils ein 7 Zoll großer Touchscreen. Im Grunde hat Microsoft zwei Tablet-PCs über einen Klappmechanismus miteinander verbunden.

Das Microsoft Courier ist aber kein E-Book-Reader und auch kein Multimedia-Gerät, wie es Apple gerade entwickeln soll. Das Microsoft Courier ist ein persönlicher Organizer - aufgeklappt ungefähr im DIN-A5-Format.

Multitouch und Handschriften-Erkennung

Bedient werden kann der doppelte Tablet-PC mit dem Finger oder mit dem Stift. Er beherrscht Eingaben über Multitouch und kann Handschriften erkennen. Inhalte können von einem Display aufs andere verschoben werden. Aus einem Kalendereintrag kann so ein Widget werden.

Der einzige physische Knopf befindet sich zwischen den beiden Bildschirmen. Auf der Rückseite gibt es noch eine 3-Megapixel-Kamera mit Blitzlicht. Wann dieses Booklet erscheinen soll und ob überhaupt, ist nicht bekannt.
