Heißes iPhone: Nicht im Auto liegen lassen

Etliche Nutzer beschwerten sich, ihr weißes iPhone würde ungewöhnlich heiß und sich auf der Rückseite bräunlich verfärben. Engadget berichtete darüber. Apple nahm nun indirekt Stellung - im Support-Bereich.

Dort findet sich ein am Dienstag aktualisierter Eintrag, der lediglich besagt, dass man das iPhone nur nutzen solle, wenn es nicht heißer als 35 Grad sei.

Bei den aktuellen Temperaturen hieße das: Ab in den Schatten. Und wenn es noch heißer wird: Ab in den Kühlschrank mit dem iPhone. Apple gibt als Temperatur-Untergrenze 0 Grad an. Ein Kühlakku per Huckepack täte es wohl auch.

Warnmeldung vorsorglich eingebaut

Eine solche Angabe der Betriebstemperatur ist nicht unüblich. Allerdings sagt Apple damit auch: Selbst Schuld, wenn du dein iPhone in die Sonne legst. Ganz konkret wird davor gewarnt, das Gerät im Auto liegen zu lassen oder es für längere Zeit dem Sonnenlicht auszusetzen.

Apple sagt auch, was dann passieren kann: Bei Überhitzung könnte sich die Akkulaufzeit verkürzen und der Akku nicht mehr geladen werden.

Die Helligkeit des Bildschirms würde sich verringern und das Netzsignal schwächer werden. Schließlich erschiene eine Warnmeldung: "iPhone muss abkühlen, bevor es verwendet werden kann".

Auch das iPhone 3G betroffen?

Dem Nutzer helfen diese Angaben wenig. Apple sichert sich damit rechtlich ab. Daher fehlt auch nicht der Hinweis, dass das iPhone 3G und das iPhone 3GS den Sicherheitsstandard EN60950-1 erfüllt.

Laut Apple gelten alle Ausführung gleichermaßen für das iPhone 3GS wie auch für das iPhone 3G. Da ähnliche Berichte aus dem letzten Jahr nicht bekannt sind, liegt der Verdacht nahe, Apple habe nicht der Eindruck erwecken wollen, das iPhone 3GS sei ein unfertiges Produkt.
