O2 Xda Diamond 2: Upgrade auf Windows Mobile 6.5 versprochen

Ab nächster Woche wird der Nachfolger des HTC Diamond bei Telefonica O2 erhältlich sein - für 437,50 Euro und unter der Namen O2 Xda Diamond 2. Die O2-Variante wird neben dem Internet Explorer auch den Opera Mobile 9.5 installiert haben.

Beim Diamond 2 hat HTC das Design überarbeitet. O2 verkauft das Smartphone in dunkelsilber. Es misst 10,8 x 5,3 x 1,4 cm und wiegt 117 Gramm. Der Touchscreen ist 3,2 Zoll groß und zeigt 800 x 480 Bildpunkte an. Über eine Tastatur verfügt das O2 Xda Diamond 2 nicht.

Als Benutzeroberfläche kommt TouchFlo 3D zum Einsatz, das über Windows Mobile 6.1 gelegt wurde und dieses mit dem Finger steuern lässt. O2 hat auch ein Upgrade auf Windows Mobile 6.5 versprochen, wenn dieses veröffentlicht wird.

Sofort bezahlen oder in 25 Raten

Der Internetzugang wird über HSDPA und HSUPA oder über WLAN hergestellt. Im HSDPA-Netz von O2 sind derzeit Downloads mit bis zu 3,6 Mbit/s möglich. Das O2 Xda Diamond 2 verfügt auch über eine 5-Megapixel-Kamera und einen GPS-Empfänger. Google Maps ist vorinstalliert.

Musik und Videos können im 512 MB großen internen Speicher abgelegt werden. Über eine Micro-SD-Karte kann dieser aber um bis zu 16 GB erweitert werden. Eine Akkuladung ermöglicht ein Dauergespräch von bis zu 5,5 Stunden oder eine Standbyzeit von bis zu 500 Stunden.

Mit den Anfang des Monats eingeführten Tarifen subventioniert O2 die Handys nicht mehr. mit dem Programm O2 My Handy kann man das Smartphone aber in Raten zahlen. Beim O2 Xda Diamond 2 werden 25 Raten a 17,50 Euro berechnet. Die Summe von 437,50 Euro lässt sich aber auch sofort zahlen.
