Vopium: Günstige Handygespräche ins Ausland

Wer mit dem Handy günstig ins Ausland telefonieren möchte, hat die Wahl der Qual: Callthrough oder Voice-over-IP (VoIP). Tatsächlich sind beide Methoden eine Qual: umständlich und zeitintensiv. Vopium nimmt einem das jetzt ab.

Man wählt einfach die Nummer, die man erreichen möchte, oder schickt eine SMS dorthin. Eine Software fängt den Anruf ab und leitet ihn über einen Vopium-Server. Von dort wird dann das Gespräch über VoIP weitergeleitet.

Ein Telefonat kostet so die Gebühren für ein Inlandsgespräch plus 2 Ct/min für die VoIP-Verbindung. Möchte man ein ausländisches Handy erreichen, so werden 23 Ct/min zum Inlandstarif hinzugerechnet.

Für 11 Ct/min beim Discounter

Bei einem der vielen Mobilfunk-Discounter sieht die Rechnung meist so aus: 9 Ct/min zahlt man an den Discounter, 2 Ct/min an Vopium. Für ganze 11 Cent pro Minute erreicht man dann vom Handy aus einen Festnetzanschluss in Finnland oder Portugal.

Bei einer SMS verläuft der Weg etwas anders. Hier wird die Kurznachricht vom Handy aus per Datenverbindung an den Vopium-Server geschickt. Erst beim Empfänger kommt diese als SMS an.

SMS über Datenverbindung

Wer nicht den passenden Datentarif hat, sollte deshalb über Vopium keine SMS verschicken. Der Mobilfunk-Provider berechnet die Datenverbindung, Vopium pauschal 10 Cent.

Um Vopium nutzen zu können, muss man eine Software auf seinem Java-Handy installieren. Bei der Anmeldung erhält man für den ersten Monat 30 Gesprächsminuten sowie 100 SMS gratis.
